Survival rates for childhood AML have remained around 60% for decades, prompting the need for better treatments and more precise disease monitoring. The UPDATE AML trial aims to strengthen early therapy cycles with new medicines and to implement more sensitive testing that can detect far lower levels of residual disease. Together, these improvements seek to modernize care and boost outcomes for children with AML.
