Leila Hunter

Board Member
Leila Hunter joined the board for Cannonball Kids’ Cancer in December 2023, after serving as the Co-Chair to the CKc Gold Gala in both 2022 and 2023. Her passion for being an advocate of less invasive, non-toxic pediatric cancer treatments developed as a ripple effect after attending a CKc Gold Gala in 2018, where shortly thereafter she dove into volunteering and never looked back. Separate from her passion for changing the status quo of childhood cancer, Leila has extensive experience in both commercial real estate capital markets and real estate development, having served as a vice president for Good Capital in Winter Park, a senior manager for JLL’s Florida Capital Markets Group, a development senior associate for Tavistock Development, and a leasing associate for Turnberry Associates in Miami, FL. She has extensive deal management experience with the valuation of commercial assets, acquisitions, and dispositions of multi-million dollar assets. Leila graduated from University of Florida with a degree in Finance and earned a Master’s in Real Estate Development from Clemson University. In 2022, Leila took a hiatus from her successful commercial real estate career to spend more time with her family and raise her two children, Maeve and Gavin, and have the ability to utilize more time volunteering for various non-profit organizations around the Central Florida area. Aligning with her passion for education and children, she also occupies time as a substitute teacher for The Master’s Academy.
Personal Statement
I attended my first CKc Gold gala in 2018. From the moment I heard about the inequities in funding childhood cancer research versus various adult cancers, and the toxicity of the existing treatments, I knew I wanted to help change the status quo by becoming an advocate to arm others with information and resources to help support this venture. As a mother, and a promoter for more non-toxic treatments in our healthcare system, joining CKc’s mission to help children with cancer not only survive, but thrive integrates seamlessly into my life’s passion.
