Amy Robertson

Amy is an accomplished, versatile professional with a diverse background in both the nonprofit & for profit sectors for the past 30 years. Amy earned a degree in Psychology from Towson University and a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Chestnut Hill College. Driven by empowering others, Amy has found meaningful work following an eclectic path with roles within mental health, education, finance, social services, child welfare, and international recruiting & healthcare staffing organizations. Her personal mission to help others is deeply connected to her roots in social work and she is passionate about having a positive impact and making a difference. Residing in East Orlando, Amy and her husband, Dale, have two wonderful children, Ella and Zachary.

Having cancer take my father’s life when I was a younger adult had a profound impact on my family. One day all was right with the world and suddenly, with one phone call, it wasn’t and life as we knew it had changed forever. Options were few with a stage four bladder cancer diagnosis and preparing for what was to come and inevitable loss was the most challenging thing I had faced. Seventeen years later, I received my own phone call about breast cancer. As a wife and mom of two children, I just couldn’t process or feel and was scared for myself, my family, and our future. Breast cancer is by most measures, a very treatable cancer. It is strange to say that I was fortunate, as I was diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in situ. There were not just options, there were good options. Although treatment was overwhelming, there was an identifiable path and good prognosis for my future. Children with cancer diagnoses are not as fortunate. Underfunded and underresearched, the treatment paths forward are not as clear and options are limited. With barely a sliver of understanding of what these children and their parents go through, I am committed to work every day to give them a path to better options and wellness. Each day I want to contribute to and support these children and give them the future they deserve.
