Bruce Parker

Bruce graduated with Honors from Johns Hopkins University where he played lacrosse and football. He was captain of the football team his senior year. Bruce graduated first in his law school class. He joined Semmes, Bowen & Semmes and became a partner. He left to create a new firm, Goodell, DeVries Leech & Gray. After working there for 13 years, Bruce joined Venable, LLP as a partner. Bruce was President of the Maryland Defense Counsel Association and the International Association of Defense Counsel. He also served on the Boards of the Lawyers for Civil Service and the Defense Research Institute (DRI). He is a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers. Bruce has served on civic boards including Roland Park Place and Manna House. He has served several terms as President of First English Evangelical Lutheran Church. In July of 2022, Bruce will celebrate 45 years of marriage with his wife Clare. Together, they have two adult married children, Zach and Jessica and five grandchildren.

Why do you serve on CKc’s board? “To help raise awareness of the disparity in research funding and to support the development of innovative therapies.”
