Co-Founder | Board Member
Melissa Wiggins is a founding member of Cannonball Kids’ cancer Foundation and mum (mom) to Cannon, who was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma cancer when he was 20 months old. During Cannon’s year and a half of treatments, Melissa saw the horrific effects first-hand. This experience motivated her to spend hundreds of hours researching and learning about the enormous lack of funding and research dedicated to pediatric cancer and effects, such as secondary cancers, that occur as a result of antiquated treatments. Melissa and her husband, Michael Wiggins, founded Cannonball Kids’ cancer Foundation on June 16, 2014 with a mission to eradicate kids’ cancer.
Personal Statement
What’s the one thing you want others to know about pediatric cancer? “Pediatric cancer is a life sentence or a death sentence and nothing in between! This foundation is changing that nightmare and I’m proud to be a part of this movement.”
